<\/p>\nSUPERLUFT are a collective of improvisers from Vienna and Berlin. They play their way through a universe of noises, grooves, silence, funky tunes, air, rhythm, words and Dadaistic fragments of speech.<\/p>\n
Trombonist Anke Lucks and baritone saxophonist Almut Schlichting founded the SUPERLUFT trio in 2022 together with speaker and voice artist Christian Reiner. The concept of making experimental improvised music together with the air of breath was obvious and had previously been successfully tested in Reiner\u2019s ensemble LUFT.<\/p>\n
The SUPERLUFT cosmos is open to different ensemble sizes. Depending on the occasion and venue, Reiner, Lucks and Schlichting invite other woodwind and brass players, voice performers and singers for one or more concerts. Their common ground is air as the basis for their work, a willingness to experiment with sound and space and an enthusiasm for spontaneous communication.<\/p>\n
After concerts at the Jazz&TheCity Festival in Salzburg in 2022 and the SuperGau Festival in Lungau in 2023, the trio expanded into a quartet with drummer Christian Marien for two workshop concerts at the Vekks in Vienna.
\nBass clarinettist Susanna Gartmayer will be playing with SUPERLUFT at the Konfrontationen Festival 2025 in Nickelsdorf.<\/p>\n
