2. General Information on Data Processing

2.1 Scope of Processing

We process personal data of our users only to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website and our content and services.

2.2 Legal Basis

Where we obtain consent for processing personal data, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR serves as the legal basis. Where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR applies. Where processing is necessary to protect a legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR applies.

The hosting provider processes data collected when this website is accessed (see Section 4) on our behalf. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.

4. Provision of the Website and Creation of Server Log Files

Each time our website is accessed, our system automatically collects data and information from the accessing computer system, including:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the file accessed
  • Website from which access occurred (referrer URL)
  • Browser used and, where applicable, the operating system and the name of the access provider

The data is stored in the log files of our system. This data is not stored together with other personal data of the user.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in ensuring the smooth operation of the website and the security of our IT systems. The data is deleted once it is no longer required for these purposes, typically after 14 days.

5. Cookies

Our website uses cookies.

  • Technically necessary cookies: required to operate the website (e.g. storing language settings, shopping cart). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
  • Optional cookies (e.g. statistics, marketing, embedded media such as YouTube): set only with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Consent can be withdrawn at any time with future effect, e.g. via our cookie consent tool (embed privacy) or your browser settings.

6. Embedded YouTube Videos

We embed videos from the YouTube platform on our website. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“YouTube”).

We use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (“youtube-nocookie.com”). According to YouTube, this mode means no cookies are stored on your device before you actively start playing a video. Once you play a video, YouTube may still collect data and set cookies that could be linked to your use of YouTube and, if applicable, your Google account.

When you visit a page containing an embedded video, a connection to YouTube/Google’s servers is established, transmitting at least your IP address and device information (e.g. browser type). This occurs regardless of whether you have a YouTube account or are logged in. If you are logged into a Google account, your data may be directly linked to your account. To prevent this, log out of your Google account before activating the video.

Legal basis: Videos are only embedded after you have given consent via our cookie consent tool (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Without your consent, only a placeholder is shown instead of the video (a “two-click” or consent-layer solution). Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

7. Contact

When you contact us (via email), the information you provide is processed to handle your inquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Data is deleted once it is no longer required for this purpose.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • request information about your personal data processed by us (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • request correction of inaccurate data without delay (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • request deletion of your data (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • request restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • receive your data in a structured, commonly used format (data portability) (Art. 20 GDPR),
  • withdraw any consent given at any time (Art. 7(3) GDPR),
  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

9. Right to Object

Where personal data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object to such processing at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation.

10. SSL/TLS Encryption

For security reasons, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the browser’s address bar changes from “http://” to “https://”.
