Four Berlin musicians are BAUHAUSKAPELLENTRAUM: It began in 2019 as a project funded by the Musikfonds on the occasion of the centenary of the Bauhaus and has since become a “working band” that constantly seeks and processes new impulses.
The four musicians interpret and deconstruct original compositions by bandleaders Almut Schlichting and Sven Hinse.
Genre boundaries are torn down with pleasure, elements of funk, rock, jazz, Eastern European influences and chamber music sound structures are shaken up and recombined into a wild mixture. The four players groove their way through all pitches and meters, swarming to collective improvisations and disintegrating into duos, only to come together again as a musical unit. Unexpected turns are always welcome, no matter if compositional or improvisational,: BAUHAUSKAPELLENTRAUM’s music is colorful, virtuosic, surprising, and not without self-irony.
